About Local House Pros

How the matching process works

1. You answer a short survey. It asks about the project type, the property, your ZIP code and how to reach you. It takes about a minute and there is no cost or obligation.
2. We check coverage for your ZIP code. Availability is organised by ZIP, not by city or radius. If no contractor in our network currently covers your address, we tell you that instead of passing your details around.
3. We pass the request to a contractor. A limited number of independent contractors serving your area receive the request so you are not fielding calls from a long list of companies.
4. The contractor contacts you directly. They inspect the property, scope the work and quote it. You compare, negotiate and decide or decline. We are not part of that agreement.

We focus on these three exterior categories rather than every home service, because the questions that matter (condition, water management, materials and warranty) overlap heavily across them.

Availability is decided by ZIP code

We publish local project guidance for 50 metro areas, but a city page is editorial content, not a coverage promise. Contractors in the network define the ZIP codes they serve, and those lists change as their crews and capacity change. That means two homes in the same metro can get different answers, and an answer can change over time. The survey is the only place coverage is actually confirmed, and we would rather tell you we have no match than hand your information to someone who cannot help you. Contractor independence, and what that means for you

Every contractor in the network is an independent business. They set their own prices, scopes, warranties and schedules, and they are responsible for their own work and for meeting the licensing, registration, bonding and insurance requirements that apply to them. Local House Pros does not certify, audit or guarantee any contractor's credentials, so before you sign anything, verify licensing or registration and current insurance yourself: ask for the license or registration number and a certificate of insurance, and confirm both with the issuing authority and the insurer rather than relying on a brochure, a website or anything published here. Local House Pros has no local offices and no branches. If a page mentions a city, that refers to the area contractors serve, not to a Local House Pros location.

Because contractors pay to receive homeowner requests, our incentive is to send requests that are real and well matched, not to send as many as possible. We do not rank the contractors in the network or audit their credentials for you, which is another reason to compare more than one written quote and check each business out directly.

How your information is used

• We collect what a contractor needs to quote your project: contact details, property location and the project answers you give us.
• We share it with a limited number of independent contractors serving your ZIP code so they can contact you about that project.
• We use aggregate, non-identifying analytics to understand which pages and steps work, and standard advertising measurement for our own campaigns.
• We do not publish your details, and we do not sell your information as a general-purpose marketing list.

Editorial principles

Our guides and city pages are written by the Local House Pros editorial team and reviewed on a schedule. The rules we hold ourselves to:

• No invented numbers. No prices, no precise product lifespans, no statistics we cannot source, no contractor counts.
• Primary sources where they exist. Technical guidance is paraphrased from bodies such as FEMA, IBHS, the U.S. Department of Energy and ENERGY STAR, and linked so you can read the original.
• General advice, local control. Every guide states plainly that an on-site inspection by a qualified local contractor overrides anything we publish.
• No credentials we cannot verify. Our guides and city pages do not assert that a particular contractor is licensed, insured, certified or award-winning; that is for you to confirm with the issuing authority.
• Corrections. When we find something wrong or out of date, we change the page and update its review date.
